okay friends i need your help.. growing up a jw my most vivid memory of christmas was a cartoon my parents would put up prominently on the wall.
it showed a fully decked out santa (on the roof i think) and then on the other side of the page, (inside the house crouching near the kids bedrrom door) was satan taking off the santa suit.
the names -- santa and satan were over each picture showing that they contained the same letters so therefore must be one in the same.. that cartoon used to scare the hell out of me when i was little.

Sounds like the images from that Paradise Lost book from the 50's/60's. That thing was really scary. I re-ordered that book off Ebay and showed my husband some of the images, and he couldn't believe it. He thought the Witnesses (previously) were somewhat innocuous, but the more he's gotten to know of their doctrine and their silly superstitions, the more vicious it seems to him! Seeing the images again really gives me a wierd, sick feeling. Must feel like the Santa/Satan feeling.

the following account is 100% true and all of the paranormal activity was experienced firsthand by me.. i work in a converted garage.
there is a side door, with a window, and a back door with a window that leads to a swimming pool.
both doors have cloth canopies to keep out some of the sunlight.
Good stuff Warlock! You might try taking some pictures around there one late afternoon after work; or letting a recorder run there all night; or even better: a camcorder -- set on intermittent shuttering. If it starts up again, you could get a smudge stick and burn it around the office and just ask whatever it is to go away. Who knows -- you may be doing someone a favor!

i think most of us were probably trained to believe that money can't buy happiness, but is that really true?
i know i'd be a hell of a lot happier with more money....what about you?
of course, there are the big examples we all know of---people who had lots of money, fame, but they weren't happy.

earlier today i was thinking back to some of my old friends i had while living in minnesota, and attending the pine city congregation.
my j-dub friends were like many non-j-dub .
teenage boys and would drive fast, drink beer or any other kinds of trouble you can think of.
As the police were leaving, one of the girls there, started singing as loudly as she could, "WE'RE JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES, WE SPEAK OUT IN FEARLESSNESS!" She basically
sang the whole freakin' song, word for word, from the kingdom melodies.
My point is, though myself and my friends behaved no different than non-j-dubs,, we felt that we were somehow better behaved simply for being j-dubs.

there are the abuses of course, the diabloical 'two witness' rule applied to allegations of molestation, the reckless 'blood ban' in all it's tortuous complexities (which by watchtowers own admission has resulted in many fatalaties) and the cruel punishment of shunning which has caused so much suffering and pain to many of us here.. is it for these reasons that you want to see the watchtower fall or is it simply that you want to see them humiliated and broken for what they've done to you?
most of us aren't bitter or selfish enough to want personal revenge against the watchtower but i'd be lying if i said i didn't sometimes think like that.. the reason for my original question is that i sometimes feel a bit hypocritical.
i try to accord respect to jw's and individuals of all faiths, (yes, even when i go off on one of my atheistic diatriabes) but whereas i allow myself to be hostile to the watchtower i shrink from being so forthright against other 'christian' faiths whose corrosive nature may not be so easily apparent but is there nonetheless.. i guess my question is; why do we want the watchtower to fall but do not wish all religion to fall?.

i had a conversation last night with someone and we were reminescing about the late 60's and early 70's about how a couple of the sisters were telling at the time that they were being molested and sometimes raped by demons.
in our cong they were told to open the bible to a certain scripture and leave the bible open to it at all times and leave a light on.
anyone else remember some of this paranoia?

i had 15 to reset to daylight saving time last night.
there was the cook stove, coffee maker, mivrowave, tvs, alarm clocks, electric clocks, wind up clocks, car clocks, wrist watch.
the dvd player and computers did it automatically.
None. My cell phone and computer are automatic. I have several clocks in the house set to 1 hour behind; and several set to the present hour. Due to doing this for several years, I know which set of clocks to look at at which time of year. When someone asks me what time it is, I look at the nearest clock and know, due to the time of year, whether it is the *current* time, or one hour behind. I know.. silly... but it's just a pain to do this twice a year!

its not that i can't support him with what i make, but i feel that it is her obligation to help.
i know she is struggling right now, so i have reserved the rights for child support.
Every child is entitled to support by both parents, be it financial, physical, emotional, etc. Perhaps you could have it worked out that while she does not have steady employment, you would receive a small percentage each month of whatever income she *does* bring in; in addition, to ease some of the burden on yourself, you may also work some alternative care plans: she could take your child every weekend; for longer in the summers; etc. You could be really creative with it!

But now many homosexual activists are pushing for the right to marry and also be given the same benefits are hetero couples.....My opinion is that "marriage" was intended to be a union of a male and a female........What's your opinion here??? I guess what everyone is up in arms about is whether the gay marriage will be held to the same standard as the hetero marriage. Oftentimes, I think people perceive gay relationships to be more temporary to hetero relationships, which is not true. CG
